1. Global Warming is the increase of temperature in the world.

2. Yes i believe in global warming because the polar ice caps are melting.

3. One of my evidence is that the climate record how carbon dioxide increase and it makes the temperature go up, My second is the study of ancient ice cores from Antarctica it is possible to compare atmospheric concentrations of the dominant greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere with temperature variations over the past 400 thousand years of the earth's history, and glaciers and mountain snow are starting to melt very fast.

4. Examples against global warming is that all predictions are base on computer models, the modest amount of global warming would be beneficial to the world and many people believe that the greenhouse gas has been apart of the earth's atmosphere for a very long time.

Is@b3l Hurr!c@n3!!!!

1. I choose the Isabel Hurricane

2.On the saffari-sompson scale Isabel Hurricane was in the category 4 & 5.

3. Isabel became a hurricane on September 7th and moving very fast to Category 4 on Septembet 8th while the eye was located more than 1100 miles to the east of the Leeward Islands. Isabel Hurricane was the strongest hurricane in the Atlantic basin since Mitch in October 1998. The large wind field toppled trees and cut power to more than four million customers.Isabel’s eye continue to grow more & more that it pushed ashore just after the noon hour on September 18th near Drum Inlet along North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Isabel was the worst hurricane to affect the Chesapeake Bay region since 1933. Isabel hurricane of the 2003 season cause 17 deaths & more than 3 billion dollar in damages.

4.The most intense hurricane of the 2003 season directly resulted in 17 deaths and more than 3 billion dollars in damages.

Blog #3

1. The four main type of air masses are mT, mP,cT, and cP. They stand for mT=mauritime tropical=wet and warm, mP=mauritime polar=wet and cold, cT=continental tropical=dry and warm, and cP=continental polar=dry and cold.
2.Mauritime tropical is most likely to bring hurricanes because hurricanes it is wet and warm.
3. Continental tropical most likely to bring a drought because it is dry and warm.
4. Continental polar bring lake-effect snowstorms.
5. Two other air masses are Arctic and Highland.

Greenhouse

1. IR radiation is energy of small electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum
2. Three main greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, water, & methane.
3. Greenhouse is bad because is causing dangerous global warming process that is threathing our current environment by melting polar bears cap & raising sea level around the globe.

Recycling Time!!!

1.We should recycle glass because every ton of glass recycled saves the equivalent of 9 gallons of fuel oil needed to make glass from virgin materials. At least 30% of glass containers on grocery store shelves can be recycled. Container glass can be recycled repeatedly with no loss of quantity or quality.

2. I think reusing is better because you can do it your self instead of having the recycle man coming in get it at your house. For example if you have a water bottle you can drink your water and then full it back up.

3. Fayetteville residents can recycle by putting their plastic bottle, and glass bottle in the blue recycle cart.

4. The closest recycling drop off center to my house is Ann St. Landfill.

5. 9 things that plastic can be made into once it has been recycled are bottles, shower stalls, recycling bins, scouring pads, paint brushes, industrial strapping, drainpipes, plastic lumber, flowerpots, etc.

6. 5 things metals can be turned into once it has been melted down and reformed into new products such as cans, automobile parts, siding, appliances and building materials.

7. I can promote recycling by making sure that I put the recycling cart where it goes before then man comes and get it.

Grades!!

I think i deserved an 95% or higher for my first quarter blogs. I think i should get an 95% because i did all of my blogs, I show alot of pictures and it was on time. My spelling and grammar might be a little of but I complete it all my work like I was supposed to, no questions ask. I put a lot of thoughts into my writing. Last but not least my blogs was on time like usual. I work hard on this blog post specially when I transfer all of them to my new one.

Pacific Ocean

One of the Pacific Ocean’s greatest assets is fish, including herring, salmon, sardines, snapper, swordfish, tuna, and shellfish. Over half (60%) of the world’s total fish catch came from the Pacific Ocean. Pearls are harvested along Australia, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Philippines. Exploitation of offshore oil and gas reserves is playing an ever-increasing role in the energy supplies of Australia, New Zealand, China, the United States, and Peru. During the last week of November, the fleet emerged into what Magellan described as a “beautiful, peaceful ocean.” Thus, it was named the Pacific Ocean (“pacific” meaning “peaceful.”)

The Geologic Time Scale

The periods from oldest to current are Cambrian,Ordovician,Silurian,Devonian,Carbonifierous,Permian,Triassic,Jurassic,Cretaceous,Tertiary, and Quaternary.

Three Rings

A scientists determine the age of a tree by counting the rings. Scientists can use small, non-destructive core samples from living tree. The study of the annual rings in trees is called dendrochronology. A tree ring is simply a layer of wood produced during one tree's growing season. Scientists can use the tree rings described above for reconstructing past climate because trees are good environmental indicators. This an example of Relative dating.

Unconformity

In the sample rock formation from oldest to youn gest the layers are:D, A, E, B, and C. Letter D came first, as in it was the older. Then there was A, E, B, and the youngest would be C. I understand that C is the youngest because it on top of all the other layers. Also that D is the oldest because it is under all the rest if the layers. That's how I found out how old they all were. Seeing where they were in their layers. Since layer B is on top of all the rest, it is the second youngest. In the photo there are three types of unconformities: disconformity, angular unconformity, and nonconformity. The A layer has 2 nonconformities. The D layer has a noconformity and angular unconformity. The layer B has 2 disconformities.

Earthquakes

Between earthquakes and volcanoes, I think the earthquake is the most dangerous. The damage left from earthquake are far worst than a volcanoes eruption. Also Earthquakes are more frequent to happen anywhere than a volcanic eruption. Another reason why I think earthquake are more dangerous is because, they make everything shake, buildings can be distroy, and roads can open or brake.

In Italy, L’aquila — At twilight on Monday, seven wooden coffins lay on the ground under a gnarled tree in Onna, a tiny village eight miles from here. A woman was slumped in grief over one, while people comforted her. After a few moments, five men strained to lift four coffins into a funeral van.

1. One of the deepest mines in the world is the TauTona gold mine in South Africa, a mere 3.6 kilometers deep.
2. To reach the mantle you would have to dig your way through 6,378 km of rock.
3. If my friend and I was in my backyard trying to find a short cut to China we would be amazed of all the things we could see. We saw many things such as molten rock, igneous rock, sedimentary rock, and metamorphic rocks. While we was digging we saw that i had biological activity in my backyard. As we dig more and more we saw the inner core and outer core, which one of them are made out of solid iron and liquid iron. Deep down was the crust and that's the thinness layer and the rockiest. Then was the Moho which that's the boundary between the crust and the mantle. Lastly we made it to the mantle the thickest layer. The mantle is dark liquid rock that is rich in magnesium and silicon.
